Tepoztlan is a peaceful, beautiful tourist town in a valley between the mountains.  It lies at the foothills of the Sierra del Chichinautzin, at about 1,700 meter above sea level (5,570 feet).  Tepoztlan is located in the state of Morelos, about 30 minutes away from Cuernavaca (called the city of eternal spring) and about an hour away from Mexico City.  Tepoztlan is famous for it’s mystical and curative powers.  Many come to bathe in the rivers, mediate, and participate in temazcales (a traditional pre-hispanic steam bath) and shamanic ceremonies.

The Tepoztlan climate is semitropical, with relatively low humidity levels.  All year round the weather is about 68 degrees Farenheit.  The rainy season lasts from May to October, and the climate is ideal for the cultivation of many exotic fruits and vegetables.  The population of the town is around 35,000.
